Robotic Urologic Surgery Research
NYU Urology faculty have made substantial contributions to research on robotic urologic surgery. Since the introduction of robotic surgery, our faculty have been the first to describe and publish on:
- Robotic partial nephrectomy
- Robotic ureterocalycostomy
- Robotic ureteroureterostomy
- Robotic ureteral reimplantation
- Robotic ureterolysis
- Robotic partial cystectomy and diverticulectomy
In many cases, our doctors have been instrumental in standardizing the techniques used in these complex procedures, and have trained other urologic surgeons throughout the world.
In the coming years, this technology will continue to advance, with further miniaturization of electronics, advances in display technology, improved portability, and addition of flexibility to instrumentation. The physicians of NYU Urology are committed to evaluating and improving these new technologies for the treatment of complex urologic diseases.
