Phone Consultations at the Integrative Urological Center
The Integrative Urological Center offers phone consultations for patients with prostate cancer who cannot travel to our office location.
Our phone consultations allow you to receive medical advice and alternative therapeutic options from a licensed naturopathic doctor, while avoiding the time and expense of traveling.
We will work with your current primary care physician or specialist and provide documentation on request.
Instructions for first-time consultees
- Fax or mail a copy of any blood work or analysis you have done in the last year. This includes cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, fasting glucose, etc.
- Fax or mail a history of your PSA scores for the last two years (if you have them).
- Complete the appropriate intake form (before prostate cancer treatment, or after prostate cancer treatment), including the one-week dietary log.

What to expect during your first phone consult
The first phone consult will be approximately 30 minutes long. It includes:
- A careful review of your completed intake form
- Review of your medical history
- Review of current and past lab tests
- Identification of your health goals
- Review of any medications you are currently taking (to avoid unwanted interactions with supplements)
- Review and optimization of any supplements you are currently taking
- Review of your dietary and nutritional status
- Thoroughly answering any questions you may have
Based on the findings, Dr. Espinosa will develop a customized health plan that will be either faxed or e-mailed to you. This will include:
- The right dietary plan for your body type and genetic type
- A protocol for optimized supplement use
- An individualized exercise program
- Stress reduction techniques
- Advice on reducing environmental toxicity
Follow-up phone consultations
Follow-up consultations are typically scheduled:
- Once every 3 months for the first year (four times per year)
- Once every 6 months during the second year (twice a year)
- Once a year thereafter
Follow-up consultations are highly recommended so that Dr. Espinosa can monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. The average follow-up phone consultation is 20 minutes. This can vary depending on your progress and health goals.

- Follow-up phone consults: $220.00 (USD)
Frequently asked questions
Do you offer phone consults for any conditions other than prostate cancer?
Not at this time. Dr. Espinosa has a very narrow focus on alternative and nutritional approaches for prostate cancer. Treatment of other urologic conditions requires an in-person office visit.
Is a second phone consult in 3 months really necessary?
The protocols that Dr. Espinosa prescribes require a lifestyle change that is critical for your improvement. The suggested follow-up consultation schedule is not for our benefit, but for yours. Our goal is to heal our patients and consultees, and this typically requires more than one phone consultation.
Why don't you accept health insurance?
Insurance companies do not cover phone consultations.
