Female Urology

Directors:
Victor Nitti, M.D.
Christopher Kelly, M.D.
Nirit Rosenblum, M.D.

Women may suffer from a multitude of urologic conditions that require a caring and sensitive approach. These include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction and overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract infections and female sexual dysfunction. The physicians of the Program in Female Urology are nationally recognized experts in this field and take a unique approach to the female patient, emphasizing quality of life and quality of care.

Drs. Nitti, Kelly and Rosenblum take an individualized approach to each patient, recognizing that no one treatment fits all women. Once they establish a correct diagnosis, they work with each patient to establish the best treatment. The program in female urology offers a wide array of diagnostic tests and treatment options, many of which can be performed in the office. Treatments include behavioral therapy, biofeedback, medications and minimally invasive procedures such as the injection of urethral bulking agents—all of which can be performed on an outpatient basis. The office at NYU Urology Associates is also fully equipped with state-of-the-art video urodynamics equipment, again eliminating the need to visit the hospital.

Drs. Nitti, Kelly and Rosenblum are all specialists in reconstructive surgical procedures, including the latest minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of urinary incontinence and prolapse in women. The group members are also involved in ongoing clinical research investigating treatments for incontinence, prolapse and voiding dysfunction, which furthers their mission of providing the most effective and up-to-date therapies for urological disorders in women.
